TV beds have come along way since we started back in 2012. When we launched the business a TV bed was pretty much a basic fabric bed with a TV in the footboard. It’s fair to say things, like most things in tech, have moved a long way since then. We have noticed that what our customers want from a TV bed could be more akin to a shopping list for a home entertainment system a few years ago. So we thought we’d explain exactly what features you should be looking for if you are looking for a sound system bed.
A sound system is nothing without speakers so this is going to be a key consideration on your search for a multimedia bed. Ideally, you want a bed with surround sound speakers. Why? If you want the best gaming or movie watching experience surround sound from the comfort of your own bed will take your TV Bed viewing pleasure to the next level. Our own Lyon and Annecy are a great example of a great TV Bed with speakers. Both of these beds come with 2.1 surround sound speakers, designed to leverage sound from a single source.
Subwoofers are important because most speakers in audio or a home audio system are not capable of reproducing all the frequencies your audio source sends to them. In simple terms without a subwoofer, you’ll be missing out on some of the sounds from your game or movie. And, if you are watching an action film or playing a shoot ’em up that all-important rumble is going to add a lot to your enjoyment. This is true of the experience in your living room as much as your TV bed.
The little extras…
A sound system bed is a lot more than simply speakers and subwoofers. The new generation of TV Beds with speakers come with lots of other features, much like you would expect from a state-of-the-art system in your living room. Sound system beds now often come with USB ports and Bluetooth so you can connect your portable devices directly to your TV Bed. And, of course, it doesn’t need to stop there. A sound system bed can also be a storage bed and vice-versa.
